Calcipast Root Canal Filling Paste 2.1g
Material for temporary filling of root canals in paste form.
Composition: Calcium hydroxide, barium sulfate (CALCIPAST) or iodoform (CALCIPAST I), auxiliary substances.
Presentation: 2.1 g syringe.
Material for temporary obturation of the canal based on calcium hydroxide. Improves the reconstruction of destroyed periapical tissues.
The carefully selected chemical composition ensures the rapid creation of recessive and reparative dentin. The main advantage of this product is its long-lasting antibacterial effect and its ability to stimulate the formation of mineralized barriers. In addition, it has a drying effect, which is important in cases of persistent inflammatory exudates.
Application and properties of CALCIPAST:
- Temporary dressing for canals, used between visits
- Treatment of infected root canals
- Antibacterial effect
- Relieves inflammation
- Stimulates the reconstruction of destroyed periapical tissues while stimulating odontoblasts to create reparative dentin
- Protects the pulp from thermoelectric stimuli
- Prevents the penetration of exudate into the root canals
- Calcipast is a soft, non-hardening material, and the controlled, sustained release of calcium ions begins immediately after placement in the canal.
Instructions for use: The product has a creamy consistency that facilitates its application into the canal using an applicator - Lentulo needle or the last needle used to widen the canal. Calcipast is used after preparation and drying of the canal.
- Insert the applicator up to 1/3 of the apical opening.
- Press the syringe plunger until the paste reaches the apex, opening and withdrawing the syringe slightly.
- Remove excess paste using a sterile compress.
The paste should be left in the canal until partial bone reconstruction. Calcipast contains radiopaque barium sulfate, which allows excellent visibility on X-ray.
